ONE CUP · FOUR SIGNALS

Coffee gets clearer
when the clues stay connected.

Follow coffee from fruit to cup—and see where Baristuno turns origin, recipe, grind and taste into one useful next decision.

01 · CHERRY

Every cup begins somewhere.

Origin, variety and processing shape the possibilities before you ever open the bag. Baristuno keeps that story attached to the coffee.

Explore the Bean Atlas
02 · ROASTED BEAN

Choose a recipe that fits.

Match the coffee, roast and equipment to a trusted starting point—or ask the Advisor why a recipe makes sense.

03 · GROUNDS

Make the invisible measurable.

Grind setting and particle distribution turn a roasted bean into a brewable signal. Grind Lab adds evidence without uploading your photo.

04 · CUP

Taste, learn, brew it better.

Brew Assist records the result. Intelligence connects the signals and proposes one explainable change for your next cup.

GRIND LAB SCAN · OPTIONAL EVIDENCE

See the grind behind the cup.

Photograph coffee grounds on the Baristuno calibration mat. Grind Lab measures particle size on your device, then lets you connect the reading to the exact brew you want to improve.

  • Compare grinder settings with measured evidence
  • Spot fines, spread, and a useful D50 reference
  • Keep every photo private unless you choose to save

BREW RATIOHow much water for the coffee?

A 1:16 ratio means 16 grams of water for every gram of coffee. Start with the recipe, then adjust by taste.

Learn about recipes →
GRIND SIZEWhy does finer or coarser matter?

Finer coffee usually extracts faster; coarser coffee extracts slower. Change one step and keep the rest stable.

Learn about grinding →
EXTRACTIONWhat do sour and bitter suggest?

Sour can indicate too little extraction; bitter can indicate too much. Baristuno treats this as a clue, not a verdict.

Learn about taste →

GRIND LAB

Coffee particle analyzer

Shoot the mat, get the size distribution. Every reading you save lands in your library so you can compare grinders and settings over time.

COFFEE TERM · D50What does the grind number mean?

D50 is the middle particle size: half of the measured coffee is smaller and half is larger. Use it to compare your own settings—not as a universal perfect number.

Backup format v7

Create a complete Baristuno backup, restore an older backup, or bring brew history from another journal. Imports merge safely and never delete existing records.

Profile, brews, coffees, recipes, experiments, water, equipment and grind reports.

02Restore a backup

Versions 1–7 are migrated to the current structure before anything is written.

03Move from another journal

Import Beanconqueror JSON/ZIP exports or a broadly compatible brew-history CSV.

Import is additive: matching backup IDs are updated, while journal imports create new records. Files are read on this device and are not uploaded as files. Account deletion still removes your stored data and sign-in permanently.

COFFEE TERM · RESTINGWhy roast date can change the brew

Freshly roasted coffee releases carbon dioxide. Recording the roast and opened dates helps you recognize when the same recipe starts behaving differently.

Useful intelligence

Evidence from your own coffee routine.

Recommendations show their sample size and confidence. Baristuno describes patterns in what you logged; it does not pretend correlation is certainty.

COFFEE TERM · CONFIDENCEWhy Baristuno sometimes recommends repeating

One cup can be noisy. Confidence rises when several comparable brews point in the same direction, so repeating can be a better experiment than changing immediately.

Build your taste profile

A few choices help Baristuno recommend recipes with clear reasons. You can change them anytime.

What do you like to drink?

Choose as many as you genuinely enjoy.

Which flavors pull you in?

This shapes the recipe match—not what Baristuno thinks you should like.

What can you brew with?

Equipment improves relevance, but never locks you into one method.

What should Baristuno help with?

Choose the goals that matter most right now.

Where are you in your coffee journey?

This changes how much guidance Baristuno gives—not which recipes you are allowed to see.
